Is my journal really private?
Yes. All AI processing happens on your device. If you use iCloud sync, your data is encrypted end-to-end with AES-256-GCM before it leaves your phone. We cannot read your entries.
Do I need an internet connection?
No. Amber Diary works fully offline. An internet connection is only needed for iCloud sync and the initial purchase.
Can I export my data?
Yes. You can export your journal entries as Markdown files at any time from Settings > Export. You own your data.
Is this a subscription?
No. Amber Diary is a one-time purchase of $29.99. No subscriptions, no hidden fees.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Go to Settings > Subscription and tap "Restore Purchases". Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
What languages are supported?
The app interface supports English, Chinese (Simplified), and Japanese. You can write journal entries in any language — the AI features work across languages on iOS 18 and later.
